A New Cable Provider Is Coming to Burnsville
The city approved an agreement with Frontier Communications, and will begin negotiations with CenturyLink in the coming months.
A new cable provider is coming to Burnsville.
The Burnsville Sun reported that the City Council voted Sept. 6 to grant Frontier Communications a five-year cable franchise with an automatic renewal option for five additional years.
Frontier will be able to provide video, phone and internet service in Burnsville.

Frontier is Burnsville's first cable competitor to Comcast. The City Council announced it would begin accepting applications for new cable companies in April.
Both Frontier and CenturyLink applied. Negotiations between Burnsville and CenturyLink are expected to take place in the next few months.
