Public Invited to Small Business Day in Burnsville
Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth B. Kautz to receive 'Small Business Advocate Award'

On Thursday, Oct. 13, Mayor Elizabeth B. Kautz will be presented with the U.S. Conference of
Mayors and PartnerAmerica “Small Business Advocate Award” for her efforts and support of
small business in Burnsville.
The award will be presented as part of a “Small Business Day” event at Burnsville City Hall. The
event will provide an opportunity for coffee and conversation with the Mayor, a keynote
speaker, and a presentation from a representative of Burnsville’s “Open to Business” program
on resources available to small business owners.

When: Thursday, Oct. 13 | 8 – 10 a.m.
Where: Burnsville City Hall Council Chambers | 100 Civic Center Parkway

“Supporting the business community and helping create jobs has always been one of my top
priorities as Mayor,” said Burnsville Mayor Elizabeth Kautz in a statement.
“While we are honored to receive this award, we are even more honored to have so many successful small businesses in our community.”

The event’s keynote speaker will be Lou Mosca, Executive Vice President and COO of American
Management Services, according to a news release.
Mosca is a small business expert who has worked with small business owners for the past 25 years. Mosca is a major contributor to The New York Times Bestseller Profits Aren’t Everything, They’re The Only Thing, and has been a speaker at events throughout the country.
He will present on “How Your Business Can Capitalize on an Improving Economy.”
