• James Ray 'Jim' Trowbridge (winonaradio.com) — Burnsville readers are remembering James "Jim" Trowbridge, a former resident who spent more than 30 years living in the city before retiring to northern Minnesota and later Winona. The 90-year-old Army veteran and longtime pipefitter was known for his love of the outdoors, "Jimmy‑rigged" projects, and family gatherings. A celebration of life is planned in Winona on August 23. 
• Neighbors gather to share memories of family members killed in Hopkins and Burnsville (cbsnews.com) — Burnsville residents are grappling with news that local police found 78-year-old Alice Brown dead from an apparent stabbing at a home in the city, part of a tragic series of killings tied to the same family. Neighbors and friends gathered in nearby Hopkins to remember Alice, Kristen, and 7-year-old Evie Brown with candles, songs, and shared stories, seeking a first step toward healing.
