South Metro Republican Creates Bipartisan Real Estate Caucus
Earlier in April, Lakeville Representative Roz Peterson and New Hope Senator Ann Rest announced the Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Caucus.

SAINT PAUL, MN — Earlier this month, Lakeville's Republican Representative Roz Peterson and New Hope's DFL Senator Ann Rest announced the formation of the Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Caucus during Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Day at the Capitol. The goal of forming the Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Caucus is to bring together Representatives and Senators of both parties who share an interest in public policy issues that affect the commercial real estate industry, according to a news release.
“I am excited about the opportunity to co-chair the Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Caucus with Senator Rest,” Peterson said in a statement. “The commercial real estate industry is an important aspect of Minnesota’s economy and the issues surrounding it don’t need to be contentious. These issues can be solved in a bipartisan manner.”
The first priorities for the Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Caucus include:
- Working to educate public officials and policy makers about the important role that the commercial real estate industry plays in Minnesota’s economy
- Working to improve the competitive stature of Minnesota’s commercial real estate industry by advocating for fair and reasonable tax policies
- Working to ensure a productive and efficient commercial real estate industry in Minnesota by advocating for reasonable land use and zoning policies, environmental regulation, project permitting, and other regulatory controls
