Threat Was Meant For New Mexico School, Not Burnsville: Officials

Burnsville High School is the latest in a series of Minnesota schools to investigate potential threats this week.

BURNSVILLE, MN — Burnsville High School officials say they've been made aware of an image that’s being shared on social media that includes a threatening message and references "BHS."

School administrators and Burnsville police say they investigated and found the message is referring to a different "BHS," Belen High School in New Mexico. It was not posted by a Burnsville student and has nothing to do with Burnsville High School, the school said in a news release Thursday

"Despite this, we know that recent events have put us all in a heightened state of concern," officials stated. "To help provide an additional measure of comfort, we are working with police to provide additional presence at district schools, including the high school, tonight and over the coming days."
