• Relay for Life raises nearly $20K at annual event (hometownsource.com) — Carver County residents helped raise nearly $20,000 at this year's Relay for Life event in Waconia, and donations are still being accepted through October 31 to reach the annual goal. The gathering honored cancer survivors and remembered loved ones with luminary walks and heartfelt speeches, and organizers invite locals to donate online or join the event's leadership team.
   

• Jane (Kerber) Michel, 93 (newpraguetimes.com) — Family and friends in Carver and Victoria are mourning the passing of 93-year-old Jane (Kerber) Michel, a lifelong Victoria resident deeply involved with St. Victoria Parish and her community. Services will be held at St. Victoria Parish Family on October 1, with visitation the evening before and again before Mass, as loved ones gather to honor her life of faith, family, and service.
