• Champlin elects new council member as death threats, harassment shadow local politics (kstp.com) — Champlin voters have chosen Rachel Wales to fill a City Council seat after a tense special election marked by reported harassment, death threats and online intimidation. Mayor Ryan Sabas and others describe escalating rhetoric, doxxing and mailed threats involving candidates and residents, prompting added police presence and new safety measures at meetings. Officials hope tensions ease now that the race is decided. 
• Man receives 11 years in jail for stabbing parents in Champlin (hometownsource.com) — A Circle Pines man has been sentenced to just over 11 years in prison for stabbing his parents at a Champlin home last September, after pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree attempted murder. Champlin police and neighboring agencies responded to the 7100 block of 120th Avenue, where both victims were found critically injured and later hospitalized. Investigators reported recovering a large knife and suspected methamphetamine.
