• Track and Field: R-P/H, LFCMC, and Chatfield Take on St. Charles Meet (fillmorecountyjournal.com) — Chatfield High School’s boys and girls track teams turned in strong relay and field performances at the recent St. Charles meet, highlighted by wins in both the girls’ and boys’ 4×100 and 4×400 relays. Local athletes from Chatfield shared the spotlight with runners and throwers from R-P/H and LFCMC, with several multi-event standouts and a program record in the 3,200 meters.
   

• Man who hid in a tree after shooting his ex-girlfriend in the face sentenced (lawandcrime.com) — A man whose truck was found at a home in Chatfield has been sentenced to more than 34 years in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend. After the 2025 shooting, officers tracked him to Chatfield, where he hid in a tree before being arrested. The recent sentencing closes a high-profile case that briefly brought a major manhunt into the Chatfield area.
