1. Coon Rapids Opens Long-Awaited Port Riverwalk Pedestrian Bridge, Reconnecting Coon Creek Regional Trail (town.news) — Coon Rapids has officially opened the long-awaited Port Riverwalk pedestrian bridge, giving walkers and cyclists a safer, continuous Coon Creek Regional Trail connection between Bunker Hills Regional Park and the Coon Rapids Dam. After a year-long delay caused by transport damage to the span, the new steel-truss bridge now separates trail users from Coon Rapids Boulevard traffic and links nearby neighborhoods and parks.
   

2. Privacy Policy (coonrapidsmn.gov) — Coon Rapids residents are reminded that the city collects personal information only as needed for services and may have to release some data under Minnesota’s Government Data Practices Act. The city won’t sell or lease your information, but photos and video taken at public events and facilities can be used for promotional purposes. Using the city website signifies acceptance of this evolving privacy policy.
   

3. Bender buys Woodland North Apartments in Coon Rapids (finance-commerce.com) — A major Chicago investor has purchased the 198-unit Woodland North Apartments on University Avenue in Coon Rapids, marking its first Minnesota acquisition. The complex is 96% occupied and slated for renovations to apartments, amenities, windows, roofs and exteriors, with a county-assessed value near $22 million. Residents may see upgrades but no sale price was disclosed.
   

4. Charges: Man killed 1, injured 4 in horrific mental health facility attack (newsbreak.com) — A violent attack at a Minneapolis mental health facility left one patient dead and four others injured, and the suspect had a prior alleged assault at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids in August. The case raises questions about how his civil commitment and earlier attempted murder charges were handled before he was released on bail, leading up to the deadly incident.
