Scene around town: Laker pride on parade through Detroit Lakes (dl-online.com) — Detroit Lakes streets along Roosevelt Avenue and Willow Street filled with red-and-white pride as students, staff, and families celebrated the annual homecoming parade. 3. Truck Collides With Horse-Drawn Buggy in Becker County (lakesarearadio.net) — Four people, including two young children from Frazee, were injured Thursday evening when a truck driven by a Detroit Lakes man struck their horse-drawn buggy on a Becker County road. Authorities say alcohol and drugs are not suspected, and multiple local agencies from Frazee and Becker County responded as investigators work to determine what caused the crash.

4. Zebra mussels confirmed in 2 northern Minnesota lakes (inforum.com) — Zebra mussels have been confirmed in Sauer Lake in Becker County, just outside Detroit Lakes, raising concerns for local boaters and anglers. The DNR urges everyone using area lakes to thoroughly clean boats, trailers and gear with hot water and to report any suspected invasive species so new infestations can be caught early.

5. Three people injured when boat capsizes on Eagle Lake near Frazee (dl-online.com) — Emergency crews based out of Detroit Lakes helped rescue three people after a paddle boat capsized Friday evening on Eagle Lake near Frazee. One woman was airlifted to Fargo, while two others were taken to Essentia Health–St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes with non-life-threatening injuries, as investigators review how the boat began taking on water.
