• After 23 years, Glenn Switzer announces he will not seek re-election as Mayor of Dundas (kymnradio.net) — Dundas Mayor Glenn Switzer is stepping down after more than two decades in office, choosing not to seek re-election this November. He says the city’s stable finances, experienced staff, and short council meetings make this the right moment to pass the torch, while he focuses on his Gardens of Castle Rock businesses and family life. Residents considering a run are encouraged to contact him for guidance.
   

• Northfield Ice Arena Solar Panels Will Be Installed and Connected (kymnradio.net) — Dundas residents will help support and benefit from the new Hasse Ryt-Way Arena, now cleared to include a major solar array that cuts long-term energy costs. Xcel Energy has approved grid connection, and federal incentives lowered project expenses, keeping construction on track for a mid-September opening shared by Northfield, Dundas, schools, and local hockey groups.
