Eagan's Economy is Booming
From the Minnesota Vikings to the Naf Naf Grill, developers across the metro are bringing business to Eagan.
Eagan, the largest city in Dakota County, is joining Woodbury and Maple Grove as one of the premier shopping and entertainment destinations in the Twin Cities.
Earlier this year, the Minnesota Vikings officially announced that after 35 years at Winter Park in Eden Prairie, the team will build their future headquarters and training facility on 44 acres of the former Northwest Airlines headquarters in Eagan.
The 200-acre total redevelopment will include office and retail space, a hotel, residential housing and public green space, thanks to a unanimous vote by the Eagan City Council to change the area’s land-use designation to mixed use, according to a news release.

Eagan Official: Vikings HQ Will Be 'National' Destination
But it's not just the Vikings that want to call Eagan home. Fairview Clinics announced it will move to a new medical office building in Eagan this December, expected to be about 24,497 square feet larger than its current Eagan location.
Grocer Hy-Vee opened a store with lines out the door last month in Eagan's new Central Park Commons. The Star Tribune reported that almost 30 tenants are expected to open in the new retail center, which will be dedicated Oct. 6.

Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods and Marshalls also have stores at the new shopping center, and more are on the way, including Sierra Trading and Total Wine.
The Naf Naf Grill will also open a location in Eagan, as well as several other restaurants, including Punch Pizza and Cafe Zupas.
