I love, love, love my birthday! When I was a kid, my mom made all of us kids feel like the center of the universe on our birthdays. We didn't have any money, so it wasn't about lots of presents. We usually got something small - usually a book, always had balloons, and got to choose the meal for dinner -- always macaroni and cheese! It was all about being made to feel extra special and how it was OUR very own day.
And if you are a native of Minneapolis, it was about having Casey read our name on his 'Lunch with Casey' show on TV. How cool was that! And to this day on my birthday I'll feel extra special because it's my day, and I still get to choose the meal. I think that's why Cheerful Givers touches my heart. It's all about helping make the child feel extra special, because they are. I love the work you do.
