Let's Get Growing Spring Expo 2016

Spring is around the corner and so is the 17th annual Let’s Get Growing Spring Expo, hosted by the University of Minnesota Master Gardeners of Dakota County on Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 8am to 2:30pm at the Rosemount Community Center, 13885 South Robert Trail (Highway 3), Rosemount, MN 55088.

An afternoon Keynote Panel will address the “Multiple Benefits of Plants in Your Landscape.” The panelists include: Heather Holmes, author of Pollinators of Native Plants, Environmental Educator and U of M Research Assistant. Amanda Paa, author of Smitten with Squash, freelance food writer and recipe developer. Leslie Yetka, Education Manager and Extension Education, MN Landscape Arboretum.

In addition, eight morning classes will be presented. Class choices include: Composting, Lawn Care, Ornamental Grasses, Garlic/ Shallots/ Onions, Sustainable Gardening, MN Hardy Roses, Growing Healthy Veggies, and Berries. (Each participant will choose two classes).

During the day and In between classes, browse the Garden Market Place where vendors will display their art and garden and garden­related products. The $35 admission fee includes: your selection of 2 classes, the Keynote presentation, handouts, morning refreshments, lunch and a chance to win a door prize. Purchases at the Market Place and the Silent Auction can be paid with cash, check or credit card.
