Katherine Wilmes blogs about Winter Carnival Jr Royalty Coronation

Hi! This is Eagan Funfest Ambassador Katherine Wilmes checking in again. My schedule has been booked this past month with many events to look forward to.
My favorite event of January (so far) has been the St. Paul Winter Carnival Junior Royalty Coronation. It was a truly magical afternoon. As Ambassadors, we stumbled through the doors a bit shaken from the cold. Our white capes kept us warm inside but weren't as effective in the snowy Minnesotan outdoors. The room was packed! It was great to see so many people supporting these girls.
We found seats and settled in, anxious and excited. Our friend Meghan Harwell, Eagan Funfest Ambassador 2012-2013, was a candidate for this junior royalty program. The candidates all looked beautiful. All of the lovely girls strolled gracefully onto the stage introducing themselves. I saw many gorgeous gowns and even more dazzling smiles. As I began to feel more pressure for the candidates, the newly crowned Klondike Kate sang us a wonderful tune.
Finally, it came time for them to announce the new royalty. The 2014 Princesses of Ice and Snow, and the Queen of the Snowflakes. After much anticipation, we joyfully welcomed Rachel and Sarah to a huge royal family. At last, they announced the Queen of the Snowflakes, Meghan Harwell!
I was so honored to be able to congratulate these three beautiful girls, especially my friend Meghan. I know all three of their lives have been changed for the better and I wish them the best of luck!
I am so lucky to have had this amazing opportunity. Thanks to everyone who has believed in me and has helped make this journey the best imaginable!

Sincerely,
Katherine Wilmes
Eagan Funfest Ambassador 2013-2014
