Police Identify Man Killed In Eagan Standoff
The man died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.
EAGAN, MN — The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension released the name of a man involved in a fatal standoff with multiple law enforcement agencies. Isak Abdirahman Aden, 23, of Columbia Heights, died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.
At approximately 6 p.m. July 2, Eagan officers were dispatched to a domestic assault involving a firearm. Police believe Aden assaulted a woman in a car and fled. Officers located Aden, who was still in possession of the firearm, and after a short foot pursuit to the 1900 block of Seneca Road, attempted for several hours to negotiate with him.
According to police, officers asked Aden to put down his gun and follow their directions; however, shots were fired. Aden was transported to Regions Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No officers were injured in the standoff.
