President Obama: Minnesota Has 'Great Choice in Angie Craig'
President Barack Obama said that the nation's capital "could really use more Angies."
Angie Craig, the DFL candidate for Congress in Minnesota’s Second District, can officially say she has the endorsement of President Barack Obama. In a video released Tuesday, Obama said that Craig "knows that we succeed when we invest in our American workforce."
There is so much at stake in this election, and that includes the race for Congress. Minnesota's got a great choice in Angie Craig. Angie worked her way up to help lead a Minnesota business and knows that we succeed when we invest in our American workforce. Washington could really use more Angies. So I hope you'll join me in supporting Angie Craig. She's exactly the kind of middle class champion Minnesota needs.
The race between Craig and her Republican rival, Jason Lewis, is one of the most competitive this election cycle and has drawn national attention. Craig and Lewis are hoping to replace Republican Rep. John Kline, who's held the seat since 2003 but is retiring this year.
A recent KSTP poll gives Craig a slight advantage.
