• Birch Island Woods Conservation Area (eplocalnews.org) — Residents can join Friends of Eden Prairie Parks to remove invasive buckthorn at Birch Island Woods Conservation Area on multiple Saturday mornings this fall, starting Sept. 19. Volunteers meet near Harlan Drive and Birch Island Road, get brief training, and can bring their own cutting tools or borrow some on-site, making it easy to pitch in and protect local woodlands.
   

• New program connecting Minnesota high schoolers to skilled trade jobs hopes to close industry gap (kstp.com) — Eden Prairie high schoolers can now explore skilled trade careers through Dunwoody College's new Dunwoody Immersive program, which brings virtual reality and game-like learning into their classrooms. As a pilot district, Eden Prairie Schools will offer college-credit courses that introduce students to careers like electrical work, auto repair, and robotics, with options to take EP Online classes from anywhere in Minnesota.
