Edina Resident Honored with Science Award

High school junior Beth Sercombe, daughter of Randall and Clare Sercombe of Edina, has been recognized for her achievements in science during her junior year at Convent of the Visitation School in Mendota Heights.  Beth was honored during an awards assembly held at the school on May 14.

The Excellence in Science Award is given annually to a junior who has demonstrated dedication, determination, creativity and curiosity in the field of science.   In addition to these qualities, Beth is described by her science teachers as highly inquisitive – having a thirst for knowledge and an in-depth grasp of scientific concepts.

“Beth never places herself above her classmates and is always willing to help others when needed,” said Ann Feitl, science teacher and chair of the Science Department.
