Annual Walk for Animals Draws Hundreds of Pets, People

The Animal Humane Society fundraiser was held Saturday in Golden Valley.

Golden Valley was full of fur and fun Saturday morning as hundreds of people participated in the Walk for Animals. The annual fundraiser helps the Animal Humane Society provide services to animals in need.

Pet owner Carrie Orr raised $6,800 for the cause and then dolled up her dog in a cowboy outfit for the walk.

"I come up with a different theme each year, just for something fun," she said. "This is a cause I really believe in and I'm happy to be here."
