Garden C theme: Family Friendly/Earth Friendly Gardening.
Practical gardening ideas abound in this kiddie-friendly/earth-friendly garden.
The family loves how it combines the relaxed feel of a carefree English country
garden while their native plants add a Minnesota twist. Veggies and herbs are
plentiful, made easy by growing in raised beds.

Educational demonstration: Vegetable growing-basic and advanced techniques

Garden D theme: Mirror Lake Estate Garden. You have got to see this breathtaking three-acre estate overlooking Mirror Lake in Edina, next to the Interlachen Country Club. From the moment you arrive you’ll be captivated by the “birch island” entry and color-coordinated plantings. As you stroll the grounds visit the terraced vegetable garden, the University of Minnesota seed trial garden, berry patch, Heuchera collection, Hosta glade, and poolside herb containers. And don’t miss the picturesque shoreline now restored with native plantings.

Educational demonstrations: Shoreline restoration, vegetable gardening, water gardens, raptors from the UMINN Raptor Center

Tour date: Saturday, July 14, from 9-4 a.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and
$20 the day of the event.
