How to Find Your Next Favorite Book

Hello! I'm an adult services librarian at the branch of the Hennepin County Library. Some of my daily duties include reference work, reader's advisory, online reference, collection development, and online content. I'll be blogging from time to time for Edina Patch, along with my colleague, Scott.

With the cold weather of winter, there's nothing better than a good book. Adding a roaring fire and your favorite pet doesn't hurt, either. Bookspace.org is a great place to find new things to read, make your own lists and comment on books you've liked (or didn't like!). You can even reserve a copy directly from the booklists.

Categories include Mysteries and Thrillers (I do that one), fiction, romance, science fiction and fantasy. There's even a category for graphic novels. Minnesota authors are included in most of the categories. You can even find suggestions for non-fiction in that category. Read about Minnesota Experiences, Science and Nature, Extraordinary Lives and more.

The Mysteries and Thrillers category includes cozies (some with cats!), Police officers, Minnesota authors (there are a lot of them!) and Multicultural detectives, to name a few. Find new titles, old titles you may have missed and lists created by other readers. See you there!
