So, How is Your Garden Growing?

Have you planted your veggie garden yet? What are you waiting for? The weather has been terrific (almost) for an early start. Get out there!

We are at least three weeks ahead of "normal" garden-planting time. Granted, we may be on borrowed time, but I think the day and evening temperatures will allow you to plant your vegetables sooner this year.

This weekend you may want to set out some Tomato, Eggplant and Pepper plants. Plant some Beans. Your Peas, Onions, Potatoes and Cole crops should already be planted (Cabbage, Broccoli, etc.).

What's up in my garden? I planted much earlier this year. My Garlic is about 20" high. My Onions are up and I started harvesting them two weeks ago. I have harvested some Spinach and Radishes. My Aspagagus is going gang-busters. It must be getting warmer, I have already seen some Asparagus Beetles on my plants. My Potatoes and Peas are up as are my Beets and Carrots. I set out my Chards, Raab, Cabbage, Kohlrabi, Fennel, Kailan, Choy Sam, Spigariello, and Lettuces.

Heck, I got so giddy with the weather (4.25" of rain since May 1 in my backyard) that I planted some Tomatoes, Dahlias, Canna and Taro.

Does this mean that we will not have a cold, rainy, snowy Memorial Day?
