Canned food is good for cats

Most veterinary nutritionists recommend canned food for cats

Feeding canned food, or a mix of canned and dry has proven to be superior to feeding kibble alone to your cat. A requirement for carbohydrates has never been proven in cats, unlike humans and dogs. Cats are strict carnivores, and in the wild will only eat rodents, birds, lizards and bugs. Dry foods typically contain 30-60% carbohydrate and usually not enough protein. These high levels of carbohydrate contribute to the high rate of obesity, diabetes and many other conditions seen in cats these days. Consult with your veterinarian about an appropriate diet for your feline friend.
