Clinic Sofia Adds Staff to Accommodate Growing Patient Base

Clinic Sofia OB GYN announces it is adding new staff to meet the growing demand of Twin Cities’ women looking for a more personalized approach to healthcare.

Dr. Kellie Stecher and Kim Skavnak, RN, join the clinic’s all-women staff and will be based at the clinic’s Edina office. Clinic Sofia also has a location in Maple Grove to serve patients in the west metro.

Since 2002, Clinic Sofia has steadily grown its patient base in the Twin Cities while earning a solid reputation for its unique approach to healthcare that centers around giving women tools, guidance and resources—beyond the treatment—to keep them healthy and happy.

Dr. Stecher joins Clinic Sofia from Michigan State University where she served as a faculty member and also completed her residency.  She is excited to be back in Minnesota, having lived here while completing her undergraduate degree at St. Mary’s University in Winona.  In addition to delivering babies, Dr. Stecher’s areas of interest include fertility, surgery, adolescent gynecology and helping all of her patients adopt healthier lifestyles for themselves and their families.

Kim Skavnak, RN, IBCLC, is a certified lactation consultant and works with new moms to make breastfeeding as enjoyable and successful as possible.  She is available by appointment or for phone consultations to answer questions and offer support to nursing moms.  She will also work with expectant mothers interested in breastfeeding to share information and help prepare for baby’s arrival.
