Eden Prairie Cruises Past Edina Footballers
No. 1-ranked Eagles thump Hornets 35-7 in Lake Conference finale on Friday night.
It was over not long after it began, as Eden Prairie took a 14-0 lead before Edina's first offensive snap en route to a 35-7 defeat of the Hornets in the Lake Conference finale at Kuhlman Field Friday night.
One week after losing to the No. 2-ranked team in the state in conference rival Wayzata, Edina took another one on the chin in the painful loss to the No. 1 Eagles to fall below .500 at 3-4 overall on the season and to 1-3 in the final Lake standings.
Eden Prairie extended its lead to 21-0 at halftime and held a 35-0 advantage in the fourth quarter before the Hornets got their first and only score on an 11-yard touchdown run from John Bryan late in the game.
