Edina Legion Ends Gopher Classic Run with Loss to Oakdale
The Edina American Legion baseball team finished 2-3 in pool play over the weekend.
The Edina American Legion baseball team finished up play at the Gopher Classic on Sunday at Braemar Park in Edina.
The Hornets ended the tournament with a 2-3 record. Lino Lakes (Centennial) won the pool with a 5-0 record and advanced to Monday’s round of 16. Lino Lakes will face Sioux Falls East, SD, at 9:30 a.m. at Braemar Park. Manitoba took runner-up in the pool and advanced to face Eastview at noon in Bloomington.
Edina finished up the tournament with a win and a loss on Sunday. The Hornets defeated Owatonna 18-4 before falling to Oakdale 8-2 in six innings on Sunday evening.

On Saturday, Edina lost 15-13 to eventual pool champion Lino Lakes, then fell to Manitoba 8-7.
On Friday, Edina opened up the tournament with a 12-0 win over Sioux Falls West, SD.
