Edina Legion Finishing Pool Play Sunday
The Legion baseball team will play its final two games of the Gopher Classic pool round on Sunday against Oakdale and Owatonna.
The Edina American Legion baseball team enters Sunday’s final day of pool play with a 1-2 record.
The Hornets, one of 11 host teams in the tournament, will play two games on Sunday evening. Edina will face Owatonna at 5:15 p.m., then Oakdale at 8 p.m. in the final game of the pool play stage.
Lino Lakes currently leads the pool with a 4-0 record. The winner of the pool will automatically advance to the round of 16 on Monday.

Edina opened up tournament play on Friday with a 12-0 loss to Sioux Falls West, SD. They lost a 15-13 game on Saturday against Lino Lakes, then rebounded to beat Manitoba, Canada, 8-7 on Saturday evening.
Manitoba is 2-1 in the pool, Oakdale and Owatonna are each 1-2 and Sioux Falls West is 1-3.
