Edina Netters Spoil Breck's Homecoming

The Edina girls tennis team remained undefeated in dual matches this season as the Hornets won 6-1 at Breck on Wednesday, spoiling the Mustangs' Homecoming on a sunny afternoon.
Edina hosts Eagan in its final scheduled regular-season match on Thursday afternoon at 3:45 p.m.
The Section 6AA team tournament begins on Wednesday, Oct. 5, with the 14-time defending state champion Hornets likely to begin its team postseason at the Edina Community Center as the No. 1 seed on Monday, Oct. 10.

The sectional individual tournament is slated to take place on Oct. 17 and 18 at the Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville.
Barring a sectional upset, Edina will look to claim its 15th-straight state championship at the Class AA Tournament at the Baseline Tennis Center on the University of Minnesota campus, Oct. 25-28.
