'Fifty Shades of Grey' Author E.L. James Signing Books in Edina
E.L. James will be at the Galleria Barnes & Noble store on Sept. 20 to sign copies of her 'Fifty Shades' Trilogy.
British author E.L. James will be on hand at Edina's store next month to sign copies of her bestselling "Fifty Shades" Trilogy.
James, whose "Fifty Shades of Grey" recently outsold all seven "Harry Potter" books on Amazon's UK site, will be making a rare appearance at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Galleria book store. Wristbands will be given out to attendees at 9 a.m. the day of the event, so plan to get there early if you want an autograph.
Widely labeled "mommy porn" by critics, the books delve into a sadomasochistic affair between wealthy entrepreneur—Christian Grey—and student Anastasia Steele.

The series was actually banned at one Wisconsin library, but is quite popular among Twin Cities readers. In fact, the Hennepin County Library system currently has more than 1,500 holds for the first book.
Edina Patch reached out to James for an interview ahead of the event—hey, we had to try—but her handlers said her schedule right now would not permit it.
