Football Friday: Hornets Hosting Hopkins for Homecoming

FOOTBALL FRIDAY

The Edina Hornets (2-2, 0-1 Lake Conference) welcome conference rivals Hopkins (2-2, 0-1 Lake Conference) to town for the 2011 homecoming game.

PLAYMAKERS

—Kevin Carroll (Edina - Offensive Tackle)
Six-foot-3, 290 pounder has a scholarship offer from Northern Iowa.

—Deon Dorvil (Edina - Defensive Tackle)
The junior has been an effective pass rusher this season and is starting to attract recruiting looks.

—Andre McDonald (Hopkins - Wide Receiver)
The Vanderbilt commit has caught 30 passes for a remarkable 623 yards and seven touchdowns. He has scored at least one touchdown in every game this year.

—Romar Daniel (Hopkins - Running Back)
The senior leads the team with 175 rushing yards and has three touchdowns.

HORNETS WIN IF...

The injury-plagued Hornets can keep the ball away from the high-powered Royals’ passing offense and All-State wide receiver Andre McDonald. Minnesota commit Mike Rallis is expected to miss the game due to a shoulder injury.

ROYALS WIN IF...

They can get off a faster start. They have been outscored 42-20 in the first quarter this season.
