Go Spelunking in Nearby Cave this Weekend

Assuming you don’t have severe claustrophobia, you can, as a Twin Cities resident, explore several outstanding caves within a short driving distance of the metro area.

One is Niagara Cave in Harmony, MN, located in the southeastern part of the state along the Iowa border. It was recently voted the “Best Family Attraction in Bluff Country.”

Enjoy a one-hour guided tour and see a 60-foot waterfall, stalactites and stalagmites and fossils galore. There's even a wedding chapel.

Check out a gemstone-mining sluice where you can mine for real gemstones and fossils, a 10-acre picnic ground and even a gift shop.

Be sure and note the hours the cave is open for tours, because as we get into the fall, those hours are reduced.
