Is it May 1st already? It felt like winter would never end - but here we are almost fully into spring and almost into May, the month for the 2015 Pin-Up Pet's Calendar sessions! I'm hard at work prepping for pet sessions and wanted to update what's going on at Tangerine House of Design.
The final touches are being made for all the sessions to be photographed in May. I'm finishing the last details from the winter studio renovations so the space is suitable for my clients. So many small jobs to be completed! I've been test shooting some new backgrounds and funky props to use with the pets. I'm excited to see the results - I know my customers will be happy with the results as well. The promotional information and posters have come back from the labs and have been distributed to the participating organizations to advertise during their local meet and greets with the public. Handing out informational cards is a great way to spread the word and more people with sessions results in more donations for the organizations. Sessions to be included in 2015 Pin-Up Pets Calendar need to be photographed during the May 2014 promotion. Sessions are booking fast so if you are interested in participating book online now!

Greyhound Pets of America - Minnesota
There are 30 Goodie Bags for the first 30 customers to have their Pin Up pet sessions. I'm excited to say the Goodie Bags are looking to be the best of all the years I've run this event. There is a special thanks to Big Frog screen printing of Plymouth for printing the reusable, cloth Goodie Bags and contributing a custom designed T-Shirt. The design was created by the design team at Big Frog but as a graphic designer myself, I think it's very eye catching and will be something people will want to wear around the community. In addition to the shirt inside the Goodie Bag, there are a number of fun things for pets and their people courtesy of local pet-oriented businesses. Many of the these businesses have been my clients over the years and I've returned the favor by using their services for my own greyhound, Sawyer. Several of my partner businesses are : Zoom Groom, Pets are Inn, Scoopy Poo, Animal Bridges, Rovernight Network, realtor Jim Platt and more.
As a lot of my readers may know, on Saturday May 3rd, there are two BIG dog walks that benefit local pet charities. The No Kill Walk for the Animals is happening at the State Fair Grounds in St Paul and the Animal Humane Society, Walk for the Animals 2014 will be at Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. Since both walks are happening at the same time on the same day, I knew scheduling would be difficult. Looking at the calendar back in January, it was a tough decision of which event to attend. Rather than miss out on a chance to help multiple agencies and get the word out to customers, we decided to have booths at both walks. I'll be answering questions at the Human Society booth and my husband Kevin will be answering questions at the No Kill Walk. I'll be there for the entire walk and am looking forward to talking with people about the promotion and photography in general. Although he is not a professional photographer, Kevin is my dog wrangler during pet sessions and has been my sounding board for all things photography related - so he can answer just about any question a potential client may have about pet photography. In addition to meeting the public, Tangerine House of Design will be giving away limited edition Pin-Up Pets bandanas that are suitable for both large and small dogs. The bandanas are limited and sure to go fast, so if you are looking to score one - find our booths early in the morning. Look for the new banners with some wonderful photos of last year's Pin-Up Pet calendar cover and spokes-pet, Mimi!
