Man Assaulted After Shushing Fellow Audience Members at Southdale Theater
Edina police arrested a Bloomington man who allegedly broke the victim's nose, eye socket and jaw after the movie.

A 19-year-old Bloomington man is in custody on felony assault charges, stemming from an altercation with another movie-goer at an Edina theater.
The victim told police he had been involved in a verbal altercation with two Asian men during an evening screening of Paranormal Activity 3 at Edina's on Monday, Oct. 24. The victim was upset with the amount of noise the men were making, but said the argument eventually calmed down.
As the man and his girlfriend went to leave the theater, he told police one of the two men struck him in the face. The criminal complaint reports the victim sustained a broken nose, eye socket and jaw.

Officers located a black Honda Civic witnesses had seen the men flee in and made contact with Randi Vongnalath. The victim positively identified Vongnalath as the individual who had punched him in the face, according to reports.
Police located a folding blade and brass knuckles in the vehicle Vongnalath had been driving.

The suspect riding in the vehicle with Vongnalath reportedly told police they had been hanging out that evening, but denied being at the movie theater. When police searched him, however, they found an AMC ticket stub for the 10:15 p.m. showing of Paranormal Activity 3.
Vongnalath, of 8133 E. Bloomington Freeway #305, faces one count of third degree assault and is being held at the Hennepin County Jail on $40,000 bail. He's set to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Dec. 13.
