Online Public School Offers Flexibility, Individualized Learning
Minnesota Connections Academy students receive a rigorous education; have a greater opportunity to personalize their academic path.
Edina resident Taelyn Albrecht is a new 7th grader at Minnesota Connections Academy, a K-12 online public school that students across the state attend from home. Like many of the program’s more than 2,300 students, Albrecht is able to schedule school on her time, allowing her to pursue interests that may fall during typical school hours. For Albrecht, that includes competitive dance and ballet, as well as helping younger dance students as a teacher’s assistant.
Online public education has been on the family's mind for a few years. For them, pursuing an alternative educational path was more a matter of 'when' vs. 'if.' The school’s personalized learning approach allows Albrecht to participate in a full schedule of Gifted and Talented courses, as the middle school program combines accelerated courses with an individualized plan, allowing exceptional students to work above grade level and achieve their highest potential.
Enrollment for Minnesota Connections Academy's 2018-19 school year is still underway. If you’re looking for greater flexibility, fewer distractions, more one-on-one time, and a personalized learning pace, Minnesota Connections Academy may be right for you. State-certified teachers work with your student, while a Learning Coach, generally a parent or other caretaker, helps monitor progress in the home. All state standardized tests apply. Minnesota Connections Academy is a member of the Minnesota Transitions Charter School (MTCS), a K-12 academic community. For more information, visit minnesotaconnectionsacademy.com
