Park Rapids Duo Arrested for Stealing $665 in Clothing from Herberger's

Police also arrested a 17-year-old for damaging $925 in household items in the 5500 block of Oak Glen Road.

Friday, Sept. 28

  • Police responded to the intersection of St. Andrews Avenue and Southview Lane on a report of suspicious activity.
  • Police responded to the intersection of 66th Street and Tingdale Avenue on a report of a woman bitten by a dog.
  • A 12-year-old boy was issued a citation for trespassing in the 7100 block of France Avenue South.
  • Police responded to the 7000 block of York Avenue on a report of theft. An unknown suspect stole merchandise valued at $198.41 from a store.
  • Stephen Edward Law, 55, of St. Paul, was arrested for fleeing police and disturbing the peace in the 4700 block of Wilford Way.
  • Sammone Marie Parsons, 21, and Garret Alan Schantzen, 26, of Park Rapids, were arrested for shoplifting at Herberger's. The two allegedly tried to steal clothing valued at $664.99 from the Southdale Center store.

  • Police responded to Edina High School on a report of theft. A $220 cell phone was taken from the victim by another student, who then allegedly refused to give it back.
  • Two 17-year-old boys were issued citations for runaway and tobacco use at Southdale Center.
  • Police responded to the 5500 block of Lakeview Drive on a report of a harassing voice mail.

Sunday, Sept. 30

  • Police responded to the 5500 block of Oak Glen Road on a report of property damage. They arrested a 17-year-old boy for damaging several household items, with the total damage estimated at $925.
  • Police responded to the 6100 block of Kellogg Avenue to assist with a civil matter.
  • Vinita Ferrao, 44, of Minneapolis, was arrested for theft after attempting to shoplift $215 in clothing from Southdale Center.
