PHOTOS: 100 Mile Meal a Satisfying Success

People came together to celebrate local foods and community Wednesday evening at Edina Community Lutheran Church.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10, a warm summer evening with a comfortable, light breeze set the stage for neighbors to .

The organizers at (ECLC) were pleased with the near-perfect conditions; ECLC’s mission and ministry developer Lauren Morse-Wendt said they couldn’t have asked for anything better. 

With a local foods potluck, live music, cooking demonstrations, seed planting station and clowns for the kids, Morse-Wendt said the event was a good blend of two of the church’s central goals: community building and environmental responsibility.

“It’s a great way to celebrate and be together,” Morse-Wendt said. “(ECLC) is so connected to caring for the environment and sustainability. This is a great way to tie that together.”
