PHOTOS: Edina Kids Have Fun, Learn at Safety Camp

Local children enjoy getting get a day's worth of safety training on Wednesday.

Local children laughed and learned at the annual at the on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Approximately 100 boys and girls heading into 4th grade took part in this year's camp, which has been running for more than 10 years.

"We try to teach them and make them think about things that may affect their safety," said Donna Tilsnser of the Edina Parks and Recreation Department.

Children were taught in areas of safety regarding: bike/helmet, water, fire, animal, weather and vehicle/motorcycle, among others. 

Groups of 25 were led through seminars throughout the day that ranged from recreational to downright thought-provoking over the course of the 8-hour camp.
