(PHOTOS) Hornets Hand Eden Prairie Rare Home Loss to End Season
Edina defeated their Lake Conference rival at Eden Prairie for the first time in decades, winning 17-6 on Friday, Oct. 12.
Given the way the Edina High School football team has played this season, it would be hard to refer to the team's Oct. 12 win against previously undefeated Eden Prairie Eagles as an upset.
But considering the Hornets hadn't won an away game against Eden Prairie in 49 consecutive matchups, it was still a bit of a surprise to see the team celebrating on the field following a 17-6 victory.
Quarterback Mark Handberg threw for 178 yards and one touchdown, running for an additional six yards from scrimmage. Kevin Placide earned 98 hard-fought yards on the ground, rushing for the Hornets' other touchdown.
