(PHOTOS) Hornets Start Season With Win Over Andover

The Edina football team opened up its 2011 season with a 21-14 against Andover on Thursday in Andover.

The Hornets opened up the game with an 8-0 lead after the first quarter, but Andover stormed back with 14 second quarter points to take a 14-8 lead.

Edina’s defense pitched a shutout in the second half, and its offense scored seven points in the third quarter and six more in the fourth to pick up the victory.

Edina opens up its home schedule next week against Minneapolis Southwest. The Hornets (1-0) host the Lakers at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, at Kuhlman Field.
