Share Your Love of Fishing With a Child This Weekend

'Take a Kid Fishing Weekend' runs through Sunday. Find out where to go in Edina.

This weekend is the perfect time to take the little ones fishing.

Take a Kid Fishing Weekend runs through Sunday. The event aims to introduce the fun of fishing to the younger generation.

During the event, Minnesotans who are at least 16 years old don’t need a license when they take a child 15 years old or younger fishing.

The weekend pairs perfectly with the Department of Natural Resources’ Fishing in the Neighborhood program, a seven-county metro initiative that gets more people involved in angling.

Select waters have been designated Fishing in the Neighborhood lakes. Edina has two Fishing in the Neighborhood lakes:

Centennial has shoreline fishing access. Cornelia has a fishing pier Click on the lake names to see what else is available at each location.
