Sign Up Now for ‘Edible Playground’ Program
The program teaches kids about gardening, healthy eating and staying active.

Openings are still available for Edina’s “Edible Playground” program that teaches kids about gardening, healthy eating and staying active.
The program, part of Edina’s traditional playground programs, takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, June 17 to July 25. Children ages 6 to 10 will be able to take part in playground activities and help plant, maintain and harvest from the Edible Playground—located at Lewis Park, 7300 Cahill Road.
Edible Playground programs aim to “provide a hands-on opportunity to teach kids about gardening (food production and a lifelong leisure skill), to inspire kids to eat healthy and nutritious food through fun activities as well as help kids make the connection between how fresh food fuels bodies for being active,” a news release quoted Kristin Aarsvold, Edina’s recreation supervisor.
