Hornets claim back-to-back shutouts on the home pitch, while netters triumph in Rochester.

It was a successful Saturday for the Edina soccer and tennis programs, as the Hornets swept a pair of home games on the pitch and one road match in Rochester.
Girls Soccer
The No. 2-ranked Edina girls soccer team shut out former state power Woodbury—still ranked sixth this season—by a 2-0 score on Saturday to improve to 5-0-2 on the year.

Sophomore forward Lara Bowman scored both goals for the Hornets, giving her four on the autumn, while goalkeeper Allie Davis recorded her second shutout.

Also ranked second in the state, the Edina boys soccer team remained unbeaten this season as well with a 4-0 blanking of Breck in the game that preceded the girls contest at Kuhlman Field.
Individual statistics for the game were not made available. Heading into the weekend, Jens Undlin led the team with eight goals on the season, while Evan Panken had three scores.
Girls Tennis
The Edina girls tennis team topped host Rochester Mayo, 6-1, for its second-straight victory by the same score. The Hornets topped Blake by an identical count last week. Individual statistics were not made available.
