Sports Roundup: Hornets Soccer Splits With Burnsville

Edina boys top Blaze, girls fall on the road.

The fifth-ranked boys soccer team defeated Burnsville at home, but the girls could not match the feat against the fifth-ranked Blaze in a non-conference road matchup on Thursday.

A 3-0 defeat of Burnsville improved the Edina boys soccer team to 11-1-1 overall heading into a crucial Lake Conference matchup on Saturday.

Edina, a Lake-best 4-1, heads to eighth-ranked Eden Prairie on Saturday. The Eagles are 3-1-2 in conference play, but defeated the Hornets by a 5-1 score at the on Sept. 13.

Individual results from the game were not available. Heading into Thursday, Jens Undlin led Edina with 13 goals and four assists this autumn.

Girls Soccer

The Edina girls soccer team dropped to 6-3-3 this season with a 2-0 loss at Burnsville.

Individual statstics were not available. The Hornets head into a 3 p.m. Saturday at No. 3 Eden Prairie with a 1-2-2 mark in conference play.

In addition to Edina's home football game on Friday night and the Hornets' Saturday soccer games, the Edina volleyball team will also compete in the Park Tournament in Cottage Grove all day Saturday.
