Edina boys, girls both defeat ranked teams on Tuesday.

The Edina boys and girls soccer teams both shrugged off less-than summery conditions to claim victories over ranked squads on Tuesday evening, with the Hornets volleyball team also opening its season triumphantly.
Girls Soccer
The Edina girls soccer team remained undefeated on the season as the ninth-ranked Hornets won 2-1 at No. 4 Stillwater.

Individual statistics were not available. The Hornets return home to play Bloomington Jefferson at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Also remaining unbeaten this year with a win over a ranked opponent was the Edina boys soccer team.
The No. 8 Hornets defeated No. 9 Prior Lake, 4-1, at home to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Individual statistics were not available. Edina hosts Jefferson at 7 p.m. Thursday and welcomes St. Paul Academy—the sixth-ranked team in Class A—at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Volleyball
A four-game win at Bloomington Kennedy got the Edina volleyball team off properly as the Hornets topped the host Eagles 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 25-15.
Individual statistics were not available. Edina is off until next Tuesday, when the Hornets play at Cretin-Derham Hall.
Girls Tennis
The Edina girls tennis team's Tuesday match against Mounds View was postponed on account of rain. The competition will now be played on Sept. 12.
