Story of the Week: EdinAlarm Announces a Match Program

EdinAlarm is answering the challenge of providing internet access to some needy students in Edina. This business has generously pledged a match of up to $500 for all donations made to our "Internet is Essential" story.

Each week, EdinaGiveAndGo.org highlights a story that requires extra attention.  The reason for the attention might be a tight time line, a large number of students requiring help, or an added bonus of having a company match donations for that particular story - which is the case this week! EdinAlarm is matching donations for “Internet is Essential.”

EdinAlarm, a locally owned business, has modeled a new way for businesses to get involved in helping Edina youth in need.  Owner Jon Barnett is a local resident and an active member of the Rotary Club.  When he heard about EdinaGiveAndGo.org, he was shocked to discover that a growing number of Edina’s young citizens are living in need.  He generously responded with  funding that will be used to match up to $500 in individual donations made to our “Internet is Essential” story.

Sadly, some Edina families are struggling to meet the cost of the important internet service that allows children to complete their homework and learn at home.  Now, due to EdinAlarm’s generosity, every dollar given by Edina community members will have twice the value and can serve twice as many Edina students who need online access to learning tools and homework assignments.

Barnett hopes that other local businesses will follow his lead and help address the rising needs of Edina youth.  If your company is able to provide a funding match, please contact EdinaGiveAndGo.org today!
