Three Rivers Park District Seeks Volunteers

Area residents 16 years or older are being sought to make a full-year commitment to the Three Rivers Park District.

Interested candidates must have intermediate level skills in a chosen mode of patrolling (cross-country skiing, horseback riding, biking, hiking, in-line skating or snowshoeing).  

Patrollers on horseback must be 18 years or older and own their own horse. Fees are charged for training, but volunteers become eligible for reimbursement after 30 hours of patrolling.

Volunteers earn benefits like a Volunteer Fun Pass, which gives access to many park facilities at reduced rates or free of charge.

Three Rivers Park District operates 70 miles of cross-country ski trails in eight different parks, including five with lighted trails and one with snowmaking. More than 100 miles of biking, hiking and in-line skating trails in nine different parks—plus regional trails—are maintained in full or part by the district, in addition to 59 miles of horse trails in six park locations.
