Metro area residents who want to help shape regional policy and services are invited to apply for advisory committees to the Metropolitan Council. The Council relies on these committees to help develop solutions that best serve the entire region.

We seek diverse perspectives — across geography, income, age, race and ethnicity, ability and life experiences — to inform our policy-making and operations.

Consider submitting an application! These are volunteer positions, but members are reimbursed for expenses related to their service, such as parking.

Process for 2020 openings

The priority deadline for all applications is Jan. 3, 2020. All application materials, no matter when submitted, will be reviewed the first week in January by each advisory committee's selection panel. Finalists will be asked to participate in a 10-minute, in-person interview the middle of January with the selection panel before the final decision will be made.
