Westbound I-494 Down to One Lane Overnight for Construction
Closures are necessary this evening as crews install an anti-icing system under the bridge deck of the new flyover bridge from westbound I-494 to southbound Hwy. 169.

If you're planning on heading westbound to or from Edina on I-494 late this evening—or early Wednesday morning—be sure to allow plenty of extra travel time.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will be closing all but one lane of westbound traffic beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, and running until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15. It's part of the ongoing Hwy. 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project.

The interchange reconstruction project involves turning the current expressway into a freeway and rebuilding the interchange with six ramps rather than eight. The design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety, according to MnDOT.
For more information on the project, call 877-563-4763 or visit the official Hwy. 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction website.
