• UPDATE: Authorities identify victims of Lake Pepin boating crash (wizmnews.com) — Elgin’s volunteer firefighters are among several area departments publicly mourning three Wabasha residents killed when a pontoon boat collided with a barge on Lake Pepin late Saturday night. Authorities describe a large, multi-agency rescue and recovery effort near Deer Island, where three survivors were pulled from an overturned pontoon and three victims were later found deceased.
